The Chicago History Online Library is Open
January 15, 2009

While I have been waiting to see if Chicago History is going to survive the transition to its own domain, I have been working a bit on the Chicago History Online Library. There are only a few posts and the pages are sparse, but I have gone ahead and made it open for viewing. The site isn't listed on any search engines or directories yet, so the only way you're going to get there is from here. I hope you will find items of interest - if not now, but in the future. It is a work in progress, but I wanted to share. It also gives me something else to do other than wring my hands and moan pitifully...

Looks good...and the blog still shows up in my Google Reader RSS thing, so it appears as if it survived the move to a new domain.
Having moved my blog to a new site, I know what a headache it can be re-arranging your stuff on the internet, but in the long run I think it's worth it.
Thanks, Noah! And that is really good to hear that my blog is still turning up in the Google Reader. Positive sign. I was told the process takes about 3 days to complete, so if all goes well I might be able to sleep tomorrow. When the dust settles, I'm going to delete all these "me" posts (BOR-Ing) and get back to business.
Your site is looking so good, Sharon. Congrats!
Your topics on the Journal site continue to relate to my life in Wisconsin. Sullivan was the architect of my son's fraternity at UW. It's a wonderful building much like the Frank Lloyd Wright designs Sullivan inspired. I'll read anything you write with enthusiasm! Can't wait for another post. And now with an online library, I'll b hooked more than ever. Will tell our local genealogy groups about it. Anyone interested in history should find it most helpful and intriguing.
