University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign has chosen The W.G.N. : a handbook of newspaper administration, editorial, advertising, production, circulation, minutely depicting, in word and picture, "how it’s done" / by the world’s greatest newspaper. (1922) as their “Digitized Book of the Week.” It was published in commemoration of the newspaper’s 75th birthday and is not only a look back at the paper’s history but also a fascinating glimpse of the machinery (human and otherwise) used to publish the paper. The book is loaded with illustrations. And for the few people who didn't know - Yes, the "W.G.N" in the book title, WGN radio and WGN television all stand for "World's Greatest Newspaper."
